Hello and welcome to our store. Not often do you see the words “made in Africa,” however our shop specializes in treasures from Africa. We have a large range of handmade/hand carved African curios, furniture, kitchenware, Dashiki and Kente clothing, ostrich eggs, leather and bead sandals, handbags, straw baskets, bead jewelry, clothing, Kikoy, Argan oil, Animal hide rugs and cushions.
African Art. Our items are not massed produced in a factory but lovingly made by artists by hand. Majority of our treasures you will find it difficult to find or not find at all on other shopping channels, no two items are exactly the same, making it more valuable and collectors items. Our artists are humble, very talented, eager to please, are prepared to go that extra mile for customers and take great care in presenting their very finest work. We in turn are proud to show case their items to the international community. Each treasure can take anything from several hours to several weeks to make. We work with several artists, some of them have won awards in their countries for their designs, and others simply very desperate to put a plate of food on the table for their families. Majority of our treasures, the money raised goes to fund orphanages and previously disadvantaged children and communities in Kenya, Ghana, Malawi and Uganda etc (upto 20% of sales price goes to charities) and several other community projects. Our other treasures assists in employing the previously unemployed and training them to make such incredible treasures. These people are not asking for handouts, but are presenting to you their finest work, and hoping that you will find something that you would like to purchase. We at Delvi International strongly believe in “empowering these people” and have been very humbled by the conditions that they work in and their “eager to please attitudes.”
The wood used to make the African curios, comes from pruning of trees and in other cases donated from developers/construction companies at building sites. The items are strictly inspected prior to being posted. Shipping is already included in the price, and is sent via post office via airmail, registered and insured. The artists always follows up with the post office as your treasure is tracked throughout the shipping process. Shipping takes anything from 3-6 weeks to arrive to its destination.
